Come join us at Pt Lobos / Lands End in San Francisco for a night under the stars. SFAA members provide telescopes for your viewing pleasure. Note that there are two main lots for Land’s End. We gather in the northern one! See our City Star Party page for directions on how to get to the site.

Our May 25, 2013 event is during the “Dance of the Planets.” Join us to observe Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury all within the field of a typical pair of binoculars! See Sky & Telescope for more info.

Open to all ages 8 to 80.

Join us at Rock Springs parking lot (near the amphitheater) for Members-Only viewing.
We arrive before sunset and can stay until 2am.
Parking Permit required to comply with State Park rules. Contact treasurer@sfaa-astronomy.org if you don’t have an up to date permit.

April – October only.
The SFAA again joins the Mt Tam Interpretive Society at the annual ‘Summer Astronomy Program’ hosting public viewing events from April through October. SFAA members bring their telescopes, big and small, to Rock Springs parking lot and share viewing with the public after the astronomy lecture has concluded.

The SFAA hosts a not-to-be-missed Speaker Series where one of the Bay Area’s top scientists joins club members and the public, to share the latest findings from their cutting edge projects. Join us for this month’s exciting topic!  Coffee and nibbles start at 7:15pm, general announcements and lecture kick-off at 7:45pm.
