Our May 25, 2013 event is during the “Dance of the Planets.” Join us to observe Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury all within the field of a typical pair of binoculars! See Sky & Telescope for more info.

We arrive before sunset and can stay until 2am.

Mt. Tam Public Star Party @ Rock Springs Parking Lot - Mt Tam

April – October only.
The SFAA again joins the Mt Tam Interpretive Society at the annual ‘Summer Astronomy Program’ hosting public viewing events from April through October. SFAA members bring their telescopes, big and small, to Rock Springs parking lot and share viewing with the public after the astronomy lecture has concluded.

The SFAA hosts a not-to-be-missed Speaker Series where one of the Bay Area’s top scientists joins club members and the public, to share the latest findings from their cutting edge projects. Join us for this month’s exciting topic!  Coffee and nibbles start at 7:15pm, general announcements and lecture kick-off at 7:45pm.
